Sheffield United boss Danny Wilson was delighted with his team`s performance as they went top of League One with a hard-fought win at Bournemouth.
United won 1-0 with a goal from Jamie Murphy after 20 minutes,
in a clash that saw few clear-cut chances and Wilson was delighted with the work ethic his side showed throughout the game to keep Bournemouth limited to few clear-cut chances.
Speaking to Radio Sheffield, Wilson said, “Our team’s performance was excellent. We had to have the physicality today, we had to defend properly.
‘But what pleased me more than anything was how we thought out our game-plan, there was some intelligent pressing all the way through.
‘They didn’t get through us virtually all afternoon. To come here and have that type of performance was terrific.
‘Yes, we had to defend and yes, they had some possession, but it was all around the half-way line.’
The win for United, is their fourth in a row, their best run in League One this season. It is also a third clean sheet in a row, and with other sides at the top of League One all faltering, United are in great form with games running out this season.
Anything could still happen and with just two points separating the top six it is sure to be an exciting finish to the season.
