Sheffield United came close to taking another Premier League scalp as a late goal from Fulham denied them in a 1-1 draw at Bramall Lane.

The blades had to play most of the second half with ten-men after Michael Doyle got himself stupidly sent off for an altercation with Fulham`s Chris David, right under the referee`s nose.

The back four worked tirelessly. Neil Collins and Harry Maguire were immense at the heart of the defence in the first half before Maguire was forced off early in the second half through injury.

Matt Hill tucked in alongside Collins as the blades thwarted Fulham for the first 75 minutes of the game.

Debutant John Brayford will quickly become a favourite with the fans if he continues to keep up the performance level he showed against Fulham and Bob Harris, who replaced Maguire, also looked good on the left side of defence.

Following the dismissal of Doyle, Conor Coady covered every blade of grass in the midfield and Jamie Murphy, Ryan Flynn and another debutant Stefan Scougall, who all worked tirelessly in both defence and attack, ably supported him.

Jose Baxter gave United an outlet up front as he played as a lone striker following the sending off and Chris Porter was the goal hero before being forced off at the break.

So who was your blades man of the match?
