Sheffield United boss David Weir says he wants to make his side a good passing side.

Weir, who took over at Bramall Lane saw his side remain unbeaten during pre-season with a 3-1 win at Bury on Saturday as he encourages his side to pass the ball. The former Scottish international defender says that will be his philosophy at the club.

Speaking on Radio Sheffield, Weir said, “We want to try and play football and I think the players we have at the club can do that and that gives me confidence.

“You have to play to players strength and with the talent we have in the squad, we must utilise it. That is how I feel but within it, we also have to win games, so it is getting the balance between playing football and winning games.”
