Sheffield United boss David Weir says he expects the game at Coventry City to go ahead despite a third player being called up for international duty.

George Long joins Sean McGinty and Marlon King in earning international calls this week and the blades could now ask the Football League to postpone the game but Weir says he expects the game to go ahead, giving squad players a chance to impress in their absence.

Speaking on the official website , Weir said, ‘As we speak I expect the game to go-ahead and we are here to play football matches. Hopefully we can prove we have enough depth to the squad to cope with the absentees and still get a positive result.

‘We trust the group and in this instance it will give certain players the chance to impress and I know they will be desperate to take their opportunity should the chance arise.’

The game on Sunday October 13th will be shown live on Sky Sports at 4pm.
