Vital Sheffield United have been in touch with Vital Walsall editor Kev Paddock to get the lowdown on our new signing Febian Brandy.

Brandy signed for Walsall last summer and he made 37 appearances, scoring seven goals during his time at the Banks Stadium.

Are you disappointed to see him leave?

Initial reaction, I was gutted!

Given the way Febian has handled the situation then I’m glad to have seen the back of him. He seems to be a bad apple that wants the situation to be about him. Not the type of player we need or want around the youngsters that we are currently nurturing.

What would you say is his best position?

Febian needs a free role. If you play him in a fixed role, he won’t be able to do what he does best.

Brandy wanted to play as a striker from day one here and given we played him out wide or just behind the striker might have been a reason he wanted to move somewhere else.

What are his strengths and weaknesses?

His electric pace and skills ran defenders ragged last season and will be a real handful for anyone in this league. He was always able to take a couple of defenders out of position to allow wingers and strikers in behind.

The main weakness with Febian is he needs about hundred chances to score one. He will find himself one on one with the keeper but his final decision is lacking. He also as an inability to help others around him. If you have a strong full back behind him then you will be ok…his theatrics and ball control might annoy some of you!

If you could describe his time with you in three words, what would they be?

Entertaining, Quick, Unprofessional.

Thanks for your thoughts Kev. I will also be getting the lowdown from Vital Watford on the signing of Stephen McGinn.
