Vital Sheffield United looks at the brief history of games between Stevenage and Sheffield United.

Last season was the first time that the two clubs have ever met, with Stevenage only winning promotion to the Football League in 2010.

Following their promotion from non-league football, Stevenage made it back-to-back promotions when they went straight up from League Two.

They came close to making it three promotions in a row before United stood in their way in the play-off semi-final.

Stevenage won the league encounter 2-1 in November. Mark Roberts gave Stevenage a first half lead, which was cancelled out by Ched Evans in the second half. The home side claimed the three points when Scott Laird scored with just eight minutes remaining.

In the two-legged semi-final, United battled to a 0-0 draw at Stevenage before winning the home leg 1-0 thanks to a late goal from Chris Porter.
