SUFC Second string beaten at Leeds

Chris Morgan`s young Sheffield United side were beaten 3-1 at Leeds United at their Thorp Arch training ground on Monday afternoon.

Morgan included nine players with first team experience this season and there was a welcome return to action for Matt Hill, who hasn`t played for the first team since the beginning of January.

Leeds included three players with first team experience with the rest of their squad made up of youth team players.

Terry Kennedy gave the Blades the lead just past the half hour when he headed home from a corner but the hosts were back on level terms before the break when Chris Dawson fired home from long-range.

The Blades had started the game well and would have been disappointed to have gone in all square at half time.

The second half started pretty much in the same vain but they were caught out twice in the space of ten minutes. Leeds recent signing from Belgium, Habib Habibou scoring from the penalty spot to put them ahead and Lewis Walters added a third when he headed home.

Sheffield United had a late chance to get back into the game but Joe Ironside saw his penalty saved by Leeds keeper Eric Grimes.
