Who’s coming in?

I am now deployed overseas, so can only rely on web updates and Sky sports news for how the matches are going.

I was chuffed when we went 2-0 up against Bradford on Saturday, however, disappointed when their two goals went in. I noticed that the goals are coming from the midfield and defence again though. I’m sure we need strengthening up front and quickly. Bradford`s first goal was a tad on the lucky side I reckon, with the deflection!

I’m not sure if anyone else is wondering what’s going on at the Lane, but I`m quite disappointed with the transfer market so far. Billy Paynter has been brought in (on loan), and there has been quite an exodus of players out of the Bramall Lane doors, back out on loan, including some summer signings. I am certain that Weir was given the chance to spend a bit of cash while he was in charge, and I understood that NC had about the same amount. However, there has been no ‘solid’ signing yet. I’m not one for looking at the rumour sites, preferring to see the deals in black and white from official sources; however, I would like to see if anyone’s lined up yet.

Fingers crossed that NC has someone in mind that he wants to bring in for the latter days of the transfer market.

We are only just out of the relegation zone, and it’s getting pretty tight down there looking at the teams above starting to amass points. I hope Sunday’s FA Cup match might spur the confidence to push harder. After the team’s performance at Villa Park, I thought this was the turning point. Mind you, Bradford are a good side to come up against, and after they knocked us out of the cup the other year, I thought they may become one of our bogey teams!

As always though, I`m looking forward to the Sunday match. I’ll have to try and skive off work for a few hours in the morning (there’s a four hour difference where I am), and watch the game if it’s broadcast on British Forces TV. I`m sure there will be outstanding amount of support there at BDTBL for the match, like there was at Villa!

Hopefully I may be back for the end of the season and perhaps get one last match in before the season finale.

As always though?
