Keep Marching On!
I watched Sunday`s match on British Forces TV, and was really proud of the shift put in by the team.
An excellent result in the cup and moving up in the League One table is real progression.
I, like many others, was sceptical about some of the signings and the outgoing players since NC took over, however, I probably have to eat humble pie watching performances like the one on Sunday.
We seemed a bit nervous for the first twenty minutes or so, however, we ended up ripping apart the Charlton defence at every opportunity. It was good to see defenders making long runs through midfield on the attack, and I am really chuffed that we managed to beat another “higher league” opposition.
Wembley next for us, unfortunately I`ll still be away overseas, however, I`m hoping we can take the game to Hull, and knock them out too. I`ll be home for the final – so hope the lads do it for me!!
Last night`s game against Carlisle was a good result too. Only one goal this time, but it`s another 3 points in the right direction. Good periods of dominating the pitch, however, I understand that Carlisle were trying to take the game to us as well, but we managed to keep a clean sheet.
The team look pretty decent at the moment, the back four are solid, and working well together, and Flynn and Murphy on the wings is what we needed from the start, in my opinion. When we sold Quinn, I thought we`d struggle on his side of the pitch, however, Murphy is coming good at the moment.
On a slightly different note, I hope we can secure the loanees services at the end of the season – obviously NC has brought his own brand of player to Bramall Lane, however, I would like to see if we can hold on to these, as they seem to be working together really well at the moment. It remains to be seen if the foreign investors will be making funds available at some point. I thought weir had been given the opportunity to spend, however, as time passes, and the January transfer window closed, I have only seen mostly loans in at the Lane.
As always, I`ll be following the games while I`m away, and hoping we might be able to sneak a play-off place as well.
UTB!
