Sheffield United have stated on their official website that the club are interviewing candidates for the vacant manager`s position and they will not set a timescale on the announcement of a new manager.

Chief Executive John Winter stated earlier this month that they had reduced the candidates for the job down to seven after receiving what he stated was a ‘significant volume of applications; of sufficient quality.`

Only Chris Morgan, who took temporary charge of the club following the dismissal of Danny Wilson in April, has been confirmed as one of the seven in the running for the job on a permanent basis.

Former Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is the new favourite for the job with MK Dons boss Karl Robinson ahead of former player and coach Stuart McCall in the betting.
