Everton under-21 boss Alan Stubbs says his former colleague and new Sheffield United boss David Weir can benefit from taking some of the Everton youngsters on loan.
The duo played and worked together at Everton and Weir was the assistant to Stubbs with the youth and development squad at Goodison Park before taking over the reins at Bramall Lane recently.
Stubbs believes they could form a good partnership with Weir giving the Everton youngster valuable first team experience.
“I think it`s something that we will think about because it`s a big club,” Stubbs told the Everton official website .
“Davey knows the young lads who could benefit the club and benefit him and, if that`s the case, and we see if it`s right for the player, then why not?
‘It will be a great experience for them, but first and foremost we will look and see if it’s the right move for the player, because that’s what we always do.
‘We never send lads out on loan and just leave them. We see if it’s the right type of club, whether they play the right type of football, whether it will suit them and whether they will look after the player.
‘There are quite a few things we look into before we let the young lads out on loan.’
Weir has already been busy in the transfer market since arriving, signing four players in the past week, including one from Everton.
18-year-old defender Jasper Johns arrived from Goodison Park on a one-year deal in the last week.
Febian Brandy, Stephen McGinn and Sean McGinty all signed two-year deals as Weir looks to build a squad capable of winning promotion from League One.
