Sheffield United caretaker manager Chris Morgan felt there was plenty of positives to be taken despite watching the blades lose 3-2 at Coventry City and slip to the foot of League One.

The blades players showed character in the second half, clawing it back to 3-2 after going three down inside the opening five minutes of the second half.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Morgan said, “Hell of a lot of positives to be taken and I have told that to the players.

“At 3-0 down, you expect the players to under but they showed some fight, steel and effort. Unfortunately, it should not take until half time to get it.

“The biggest thing for me is the players have shown they got some fight and spirit.

“We have to get ourselves going and we must now build on the second half performance.”

The game could also be a pivotal turning point for striker Lyle Taylor, who came off the bench to score both goals for United.

Taylor arrived in the summer from Scottish side Falkirk after netting 29-goals last season but he had yet to find the net for United until today.

His first for the club saw him blast a free kick through the Coventry wall and his second was a well-placed header from a Ryan Hall cross.

The blades will surely be hoping to bring in a new manager before Port Vale visit Bramall Lane next Saturday.

Nigel Clough remains the favourite with the bookmakers to replace David Weir who was sacked on Friday.
