Mansfield Town are hoping to sign Sheffield United duo Darryl Westlake and Sean McGinty on loan.

Westlake has recently returned to Bramall Lane after spending a month on loan with the Stags where he made nine appearances and Mansfield are reportedly keen to take him back to Field Mill for the remainder of the season.

McGinty has struggled to break into the United side since signing in the summer following his release by Manchester United.

The defender made three appearances for United in the first month of the season but he hasn`t featured since and Mansfield assistant manager Adam Murray admits they have been looking at him.

Speaking in the Mansfield Chad newspaper , Murray said,“Sean McGinty is a good young player and a name we are looking at. Look at how Darryl Westlake has come in and made a big difference to us.”

Elsewhere, blades striker Lyle Taylor who joined Partick Thistle for the remainder of the season on loan last week, got off the mark at the weekend.

Taylor scored for Partick in their 2-0 win at Heart of Midlothian, his second appearance for the club having made his debut at Glasgow Celtic on New Year`s Day.
