On loan Liverpool defender Conor Coady looks set to extend his loan with Sheffield United for a further month.

The young midfielder is due to return to Anfield after the FA Cup tie at Aston Villa on Saturday and United boss Nigel Clough has been working on extending the loan.

Speaking on BBC Radio Sheffield, Clough said, “We have had a positive response from Liverpool and we are going to extend the deal for the rest of this month just to bide us a bit of time.

“Conor wants to be playing every game, week in – week out and he has started the majority of games.

“We thought it would be best to do it for a month to start with and then we will look at it again.”

Coady has made 22 appearances for United since arriving at Bramall Lane in the summer.
