Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough felt it was the best performance by the side since his arrival as they drew 0-0 at Stevenage.

The blades were much the better side in the game with goalkeeper George Long not having a save to make in the 90 minutes as they stretched their unbeaten run to six games.

Speaking on Blades Player, Clough said, “It was a brilliant performance and the best we have played in the two months I have been here.

“I was delighted with almost every aspect of the game, it was just that elusive goal and we couldn`t have done much more to try and find it away from home.

“When you hit the woodwork twice, you know it isn`t going to be your day.”

It could have been so different had either Aidy White or Jose Baxter seen their efforts go in and not come off the woodwork.

Baxter also went close on two other occasions whilst Tony McMahon, Shaun Miller and Neil Collins all had chances to break the deadlock as United dominated for long periods.

The point sees United remain outside of the relegation places and they will now be hoping to continue their improved form when they welcome Oldham Athletic and then Tranmere Rovers to Bramall Lane over the festive period.
