Sheffield United`s kids couldn`t match the first team as their involvement in this seasons FA Youth Cup come to an end at Bramall Lane on Monday night.

United lost 2-0 against Premier League Everton as the toffees scored a goal either side of half time to book their place in the last eight against either Arsenal or Charlton Athletic.

Everton finally made their pressure tell when they took the lead on 39th minutes when Courtney Duffus fired home.

The visitors doubled their lead seven minutes into the second half when Blades goalkeeper Jake Eastwood fouled the goalscorer and Gethin Jones slotted home the penalty despite Eastwood going the right way.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin almost gave the blades a lifeline when he saw his effort hit the post.

The blades created a number of chances to reduce the deficit in the latter part of the game but their Youth Cup run this season that saw them win three of their four previous ties on penalties come to an end.
