Crawley Town boss Richie Barker has ruled himself out of the running for the vacant manager`s position at Sheffield United.

The 37-year-old has been linked with the job at Bramall Lane recently but he admits, whilst he is flattered to be linked with the job at his hometown club, he has unfinished business at Crawley.

Speaking in the Sheffield Telegraph , Barker said, “It`s flattering to be linked with a club the size of Sheffield United and it shows we`re doing something right here. Things have gone pretty well since I`ve come to Crawley and I`d like to stay for longer and see things through.”

Barker had instant success in management when he took over at Bury in 2010/11 with eight games remaining. Barker led the shakers to six wins from their final eight games to secure promotion from League Two.

In his first full season, he led them to a 14th place finish before leaving them to take over at Crawley on the eve of last season. He led Crawley to a tenth place finish this season in their first season in League One.

He is currently 16/1 with SkyBet for the blades job.
