It’s being reported today that Sheffield United striker Ched Evans is now close to securing his loan spell out from the club this season and the likely destination is now Fleetwood Town.

It’s long been known that Evans would be heading out this summer for a loan spell but there was some debate about a possible destination. Fleetwood Town and their new manager Joey Barton has been a standing fixture on the rumour mill, and Sky Sports are reporting this afternoon that talks are now taking place between the two parties, and Highbury Stadium appears to be the most likely outcome for 2018/19.

The former Welsh international would be heading away for the entire campaign and it would be his second loan spell since he returned to Bramall Lane owing to his form and his struggles for more regular game time. The 29-year-old did fail to score for us in 13 appearances last season as we narrowly missed out on the Championship Play-Off spots.

With Barton heading into his debut season in the dugout, Evans would certainly be a strong addition to their side if he can recapture his form.
