Still dreaming!

I know we’re too many points behind and I know that there are too many teams between ourselves and 6th place but until our next draw or defeat, I’m going to find it hard not to dream about a late run that carries us into the play-offs. What is it about football that makes us abandon all links with reality?

This match represents a good chance for us to keep the dream alive with Norwich now in the kind of form most expected when Roeder took the reins at Carrow Road.

Vital Quotes:

I said the other week that Blackwell follows in Warnock’s footsteps when it comes to talking the opposition up. More evidence courtesy of the official site

‘It will be another tough game against Norwich but no matter when you play them they always seem to create plenty of chances and play some attractive football. Glenn Roeder has done very well since going there and has made them a lot harder to beat, therefore bring consistency to their performances. They will come to Bramall Lane looking to put the record straight and get back to winning ways after a disappointing defeat against Stoke in midweek, when they dominated for long periods.’

Sheffield United Team News:

Stephen Quinn is available again after completing his 3 game ban. James Beattie has an even money chance of being fit.

Chris Armstrong is still unavailable through injury and it seems that Danny Webber and Lee Martin are both facing surgery and therefore out for the season.

Player to watch: Chris Morgan

Captain Morgan will make his 150th league start for the Blades if he is selected on Saturday. Morgan seems to have enjoyed the change of manager as much as anyone and has returned to his snapping and snarling best in recent weeks.

Norwich City Team News:

Doherty and Huckerby could return after suspension and injury.

Player to watch: Gary Doherty

One of those players who you look at and think ‘How is he a professional footballer?’. We’re unlikely to get the chance but I’d love to see Luton Shelton running at him.

Match Facts & Stats

The Blades go into this game on the back of a run that has only seen 1 defeat in the last 12. Norwich have taken only 1 point from the last 12 available to them.

Match Prediction:

This is becoming a habit but I fancy us on Saturday. I think we’ll see the benefit of getting a couple of wins on the board and will go into this game relaxed but confident. Might we even see a few goals? I think so, the Blades to win it 3-1.
