Sheffield United striker Jonathan Stead may have started out at Huddersfield, but it was his performances at Blackburn Rovers that brought the striker to many people’s attention.

Stead enjoyed a fantastic scoring record at the Lancashire club, before being sold to Sunderland for £1.8M.

Saturday will see Stead return to Ewood Park, but this time he will be in the red and white stripes of United.

Stead, who scored his first goal for the Blades on Tuesday, is aware of his poor scoring record since leaving Rovers, but hopes he has now turned a corner. The striker told the Sheffield Star,

‘What’s happened has happened, I can’t turn the clocks back, and that’s all in the past. I’m at a new club now, I’m enjoying myself and I’m looking forward, looking to the future because it’s what happens from now on that really matters.’

Stead will be hoping to continue his impressive form against his former club on Saturday, and manager Neil Warnock expects the striker to receive a warm welcome from the home fans,

‘I’m sure he’ll get a great reception at Blackburn. He certainly should.’
