Sheffield United boss Gary Speed heaped praise on captain Nick Montgomery, after his performance in the 1-0 victory over Millwall at the weekend.
Montgomery put in a stellar display, which quickly drew the plaudits from his manager.
‘Nick Montgomery was unbelievable. He leads by example and will run through a brick wall for the team, but everybody worked really hard for each other.
‘They put their bodies on the line – Monty and Kyle Bartley a couple of times – and we wanted to play a higher defensive line, and every player did his part of the job.’
With the injury to Chris Morgan, Montgomery has added pressure on his shoulders, captaining the team, and with leaderships skills being noted by Speed, he could go on to prove a vital cog in this Blades side.
