Sheffield United confirmed this week that our pre-season friendly against Stocksbridge Park Steels had been brought forward by 24 hours owing to lingering hopes that England could pass the Colombia test last night and book themselves a quarter-final place at this summer’s Russian World Cup.
The game had been set for Bracken Moor on Saturday afternoon, but it has now been rescheduled for Friday (July 6) evening and the game will kick-off at 7.30pm.
The original time for the game could’ve seen a clash with Sweden or Switzerland so the change was made with supporters in mind.
Fans can pay on the gate and prices have been set at £8 adults, £5 concessions and £2 for Under 12s.
The club also advise fans to take the route from the city centre – Penistone Road, Halifax Road A61, A619 signposted Penistone, Stocksbridge bypass A616. Postcode for the ground is S36 2AN.
This is owing to roadworks on the Manchester Road at Deepcar and should help alleviate any travel problems.
And would you believe it, England have just won a penalty shootout for the first time in my life. I’m not sure what to do now?
