The kick-off to the 2007-08 season is finally here, as the Blades prepare to take on Colchester United at Bramall Lane.
The Blades may hand League debuts to all their new signings, as James Beattie, Lee Hendrie, Gary Naysmith, Billy Sharp and David Carney are all fit and available.
Colchester will have to start life without a number of players who left in the summer, including strikers Cureton and Iwelumo.
However, the Us do have Teddy Sheringham in their squad after the veteran striker joined on a free transfer in July.

The former Aston Villa star made an impressive debut in the friendly against Nottingham Forest and will hope to play a pivotal role in Saturday’s opener.
Colchester United Team News:
Colchester have a doubt over new signing Kevin Lisbie who has an ankle injury, but Clive Platt will be available as his suspension doesn’t start till next week. Teddy Sheringham is expected to start on the bench and Kevin Watson is a doubt with an achilles problem.

The former Spurs and England striker may be in his 40’s but class is permanent and the Blades will need to watch the forward closely if he does make an appearance.
