A play-off place is far from assured but Sheff Utd have made steps in the right direction in the past seven-days or so and we’ll look to consolidate against relegation threatened Crewe on Saturday.

With confidence restored, bare minimum, avoiding defeat is what you would expect will happen at Bramall Lane.

Matt Done (sore calves) and Mark Howard (back) are unlikely to be risked in this game with ‘the bigger picture’ viewed so former Everton ‘keeper Iain Turner will continue in goal again.

Jay McEveley (shoulder) has missed the last two-matches but could return with Stefan Scougall and Terry Kennedy (both knee) almost ready to return but not fit enough yet along with James Wallace (muscular). Marc McNulty could return.

Crewe will be missing Marcus Haber and James Jones (international duty) with George Ray (rib) a doubt. Ryan Colclough (hernia) could be involved but Ben Garratt (broken leg) and Matt Tootle (ankle) aren’t ready to return.

Will we take another step in the right direction towards securing a play-off place?
