Having initially trailed we came from behind to lead but having again been pegged back we eventually ran out three-two winners to move eight-points clear of Rochdale, who do have a game in hand.

Doncaster made the brighter start, and found the breakthrough first when Bennett (17) fred into the top corner early on.

Shortly ahead of the half hour mark though we had a chance to level. Baxter (29) doesn’t always convert from the spot, but it’s rare that he fails and he didn’t on Tuesday either to make it one-one.

Early in the second half Done (52) saw us come from behind to lead but Doncaster levelled in fine fashion when Bennett (59) riffled in from 25-yeards ahead of the hour to make it two-two.

Davies (71) followed up his first goal for us in our previous South Yorkshire derby win on Saturday against Barnsley with his second as he curled home what proved to be the winner with a little under 20-mintues remaining.
