Sheffield United yesterday rejected an offer for striker Billy Sharp.

The offer, in excess of £300,000 by Doncaster Rovers, a club where Sharp has enjoyed considerable success whilst on loan this season was turned down by the United management, although his future is still in doubt.

Manager Kevin Blackwell has stated that the Sheffield-born frontman is still in his plans following his successful loan spell, but with Daniel Bogdanovic set to sign for the Blades, Sharps destiny is still to be decided.

Doncaster chairman John Ryan said:
I’m disappointed. We will have to wait and see what happens.’ Ryan told BBC Radio Sheffield.

‘All we can do is make offers. It was certainly the biggest bid Doncaster Rovers have made for a player.’

Should United decide to cash in on Sharp, it’s believed the offer will have to be much more than the current bid, especially with the interest in him being so high.
