Stefan Scougall has said he’s hoping to begin 2014-15 in the same shape he left 2013-14 after his impact on our first team.

The 21 year old joined the club back in January from Livingston for an undisclosed fee and went on to instantly impress, performing well in his 20 appearances (17 starts) and scoring on three occasions, including one in the FA Cup semi final game against Hull City at Wembley.

Speaking to the Official Site he admitted that his move to South Yorkshire had so far been better than he ever dreamt it would be, but he knows now that last season will quickly be forgotten unless he kicks on further and maintains and betters his standards.

‘I really enjoyed the end of last season. The club was just starting a fantastic run when I joined and we never really looked back. We could have gone all the way in the FA Cup on another day and narrowly missed out on the play offs, having been in the bottom four in February. Personally I was delighted with how I settled in, but now I need to work hard and improve further to make sure I continue to develop and contribute to the success of the team in the months ahead.’

With former Livingston striker Marc McNulty joining the team this summer, Scougall admits he’s looking forward to the chance to team up with him on the pitch again, and he says he’s an excellent finisher who he feels will do really well here.
