Bryan Robson seemed fairly happy with the Blades overall performance at the weekend, but felt defensive lapses cost his team dearly:

‘I said to the lads that I was pleased with the way they went about the game. We played some decent stuff at times.

‘Lapses of concentration cost us two points today and, if you want to get promoted, you shouldn’t be dropping points when you score two goals at home.

‘Once we got the second, I thought that would be enough. But Matt Kilgallon, who had an outstanding game, just switched off to allow a free header.’

‘But full credit to Colchester, they kept going and made it difficult for us.’

Colchester manager Geraint Williams was delighted with his own teams performance and spirit in fighting back twice:

‘Every player out there proved that they want to be at Colchester United.

‘I’m delighted to get a point. To come back twice at Bramall Lane shows our spirit is fantastic.’
