Sheffield United’s automatic promotion hopes were dealt a blow by a defeat at MK Dons on Saturday afternoon.
Alan Smith’s (16) first goal (incredibly) in five-years gave The Dons an early lead, and this was taken into half time.
Even though the hosts were reduced to 10-men midway through the second half following Daniel Powell’s (67) sending off they held on to win 1-0.
This defeat, coupled with a Sheffield Wednesday win, leaves The Blades with just a point advantage over their steel city rivals.
