A couple of weeks ago, I’d have said that this transfer wouldn’t have made a lot of sense on our side.

And if I’m being honest, I don’t think that it still makes a lot of sense right now either, but with the recent moves that we’ve made in the transfer market, I wouldn’t totally rule it out, but I think that it’s got about a 1% chance of becoming a reality.

According to a report in The Telegraph, Wolves are looking to replace their right wing-back Matt Doherty after his move to Spurs with our right wing-back George Baldock.

The reason I think this might have the slightest chance of happening is because of the recent arrival of Jayden Bogle, and considering that he was brought predominantly ‘for the future’, it could simply be a case of that future starting a lot sooner than we might have anticipated.

Should Baldock be in the reckoning for an England call up?

Yes

Yes

No

No

However, in the grand scheme of things, I wouldn’t be concerned about this move happening this summer, there’s no way that someone as dependable as Baldock, who played every minute of every game last season in the Premier League, becoming our 10th best rated player by WhoScored along the way would be allowed to leave the club right now.

Plus, the article talks about Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo looking for ‘reinforcements’, and whilst the lure of a potential trip to Europe (they’ve done it two of the past three years, so don’t think it’s not possible again) might be enough to tempt him away, I personally don’t think that he’d sacrifice a starting role to be a backup player in a side like that just yet.

But those are just my thoughts on the matter.

What about you though? Do you think there’s a chance that Baldock makes a move to Wolves this summer?
