I don’t think you can really argue at that price.

Whatever he turns out to be, a starter or a backup, this could go down as one of the steals of the window if reports are accurate.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Sheffield United have had a £2m bid accepted from Wigan Athletic for 23-year-old defender Antonee Robinson. This comes less than eight months after the defender had a £10m move to A.C Milan called off back in the January transfer window, so the fact such a giant of European football was linked with him gives the defender some clout when it comes to his abilities.

Although Enda Stevens was the established first-choice when it came to that left wing-back spot last season, at the age of 30, this might be more of a move that looks towards the future rather than the present, but as I said at £2m, if he can come anywhere close to replicating some of the stuff that he managed to pull off at the DW Stadium, then we could be in for a real treat with this player.

How much will Sheffield United spend this summer in total?

£50m or more

As I’ve been saying for a while now, this summer needs to be about supplementing the first-team side that did so well this past season, rather than making wholesale changes to the team.

We don’t want to be going through a total rebuild just yet, but if we can just get some quality players to fall back on rather than relying on the same players who might be in danger of suffering from ‘second season syndrome’.

What about you? What do you make of this news about Robinson?
