We’re one step closer.

Now we just have to work out how to complete the other step and our problem will be solved. Well, the problem of getting him through the door will be sold, he still has to produce when he gets here, but as I’ve said before, I have full confidence that he’ll be able to do so.

According to a report in The Daily Mail, Sheffield United have been given permission to speak to Liverpool forward Rhian Brewster whilst the two clubs still try to settle over a fee and extra conditions of the deal.

Journalist Alan Nixon revealed the other day that it all comes down to whether or not the Blades are willing to insert a buy-back clause into the deal, something I’ve said that I’m totally OK with, as it would essentially be a glorified loan deal, but could certainly provide us with a number of benefits if that turns out to be the case.

Will we sign Brewster this window?

Yes

Yes

No

No

I’m just glad that after over two months of speculation regarding whether or not we’d be able to bring him in, whether it be on a loan or a permanent, that we’re potentially very close to being able to signing someone who could be very crucial to us this season if we are to stay in the division.

And it will be interesting to see though if we can indeed tempt him away, we know that Chris Wilder likes to rotate his forwards, so if it’s ‘regular’ football that Brewster is hoping for with us, he’s probably not going to get it unless he lights the world on fire. But given that other sides like Crystal Palace are hot on his tails as well, it’s going to take something big to make it happen.

What about you? What do you make of this news regarding Brewster?
