Well this is a pretty welcome boost.

Let’s just hope that his words hold some weight in the Old Trafford boardroom, otherwise this is just one man giving his opinion and nobody paying attention, and we don’t want that do we?

One of the biggest stories that is going to dominate Sheffield United’s short-term, and possibly long-term future over the next few months is going to be the future of goalkeeper Dean Henderson. The 23-year-old is currently on loan at Bramall Lane from Manchester United, and depending on who you speak to, this could be his last season at the club.

Whilst current Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that he will stay in Manchester for a long time to come, one former stopper believes that won’t necessarily be the case.

Speaking to Goal, Mark Bosnich said that he expects Henderson to be loaned out again next season, unless something drastic changes at Old Trafford that forces them to keep hold of him:

“At this moment in time, I would stick with De Gea. Dean Henderson is too good for the bench and it is a waste for him so I would keep loaning him out. Things can change very quickly. De Gea has had ups and downs but over a long period of time, he has been excellent. Unless they get ridiculous money for him, then I would keep him on.”

If Dean Henderson leaves, what route would you take?

Use what we have

Use what we have

Bring someone in

Bring someone in

I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again I don’t think that bringing him in on loan is going to be a good strategy for us, purely because I think we could find ourselves in exactly the same situation as we are now, but in another 12 months’ time.

Better to just get the whole thing over with one way or the other. This summer we need to try our best to try and buy him rather than bring him in on loan, and if we don’t then we can always look to go for cheaper options that we already have at our disposal.
