Sheffield United came from a goal down at Queens Park Rangers today to claim the Blades first 3 points of the season following a stuttering start, which saw them record losses at home to Swansea City and at Middlesbrough.

It looked at one point that United were heading for their third consecutive defeat and handing Rangers manager Steve McLaren his first home victory for his new club as Ebere Eze fired an unstoppable shot home past Dean Henderson from 15 yards out on the half hour mark.

United had made four changes which saw a familiar front two of Leon Clarke and Billy Sharp. It was the latter who responded as he turned in Kieron Freeman’s low cross shortly before the break.

The second half saw United battle hard and around the hour mark was rewarded with a penalty after Jake Bidwell was penalised in the box. Substitute David McGoldrick fired home from the spot for his first Blades goal and the visitors held on to take back full points to S2.
