Pressure mounting on Weir after another defeat

The pressure continues to mount on Sheffield United boss David Weir after a fourth straight defeat at Carlisle United.

Carlisle won for the first time this season to leapfrog Sheffield United in the table and they could drop into the bottom four this afternoon.

Managerless Carlisle won thanks to a goal from Matt Robson in the first ten minutes of the second half after the blades failed to clear their lines at the back.

The blades continue to struggle in front of goal. They have now netted just five goals in seven goals this season and their form in front of goal was epitomised by Mike Doyle in the second half when he fired well over the bar after good work from Callum McFadzean.

It is a worrying time for the blades and Weir, who have to face inform Preston North End and Wolverhampton Wanderers in their next two games.
