United play in the EFL cup on Thursday night at 8PM in an away clash at West Bromwich Albion. Paul Heckingbottom will have to think about his selection long and hard as United are in action this Sunday against Chris Wilders Middlesbrough.

After a 2-0 victory against Millwall last Saturday, will Heckingbottom want to keep the continuity in the XI and build on the confidence levels? Or will he look to change the side completely in order to rest his starting XI for the league game on Sunday?

This cup clash potentially allows fans and coaching staff to take a look at some of the new additions, I think it is likely that Khadra and McAtee both start the game, maybe Sharp too to build up his fitness.

Youngsters like Amissah, Gordon and Arblaster could also feature in the game if Heckingbottom does choose to rotate the side completely. Arblaster was very impressive in pre-season and Thursday night is perhaps another opportunity for the young midfielder to further impress.

What would your team selection be for Thursdays cup game?

Continuity and keep most of the XI

Fitness and rotation is key
