Lots of Sheffield United fans have been reacting to the ‘update’ that the football authorities have put out.

I can’t actually remember the last time I was this disappointed. Perhaps when we were relegated back in 2007, but other than that I really can’t think of anything.

So Friday saw the Premier League, EFL and PFA come together and state that ‘difficult decisions were going to have to be made’ if they were planning to get the relevant seasons finished at a reasonable time and to ‘mitigate’ the economic impact the current suspension is having on the various leagues.

It wasn’t too different from the update that the authorities had put out the previous week, and that was something that seemed to annoy a number of Blades fans who seemed to be seeking a lot more clarity when it comes to how the season was going to play out, if at all.

Did Sheff Utd do the right thing in sticking up for Man City?

Yes

Yes

No

No

With the club challenging for Europe, I don’t think many fans would want the season to be voided, but as things stand, there’s still not a lot of clarity about what is going to happen.

Maybe next time they decide to update us, they’ll have some actual news.

20/21 season normally should start in August.
By June/July the Corona virus could be under control,COULD BE MIND ???
BUT THE DISEASE WILL NOT BE IRRADICATED !!!
We will have this virus for years to come before its treatable and curable.
What’s the point in starting a New League in August when the disease will still be in circulation ???
it’s just asking for trouble !!!
The FA should look at a long term plan where games are played at leisure and not in haste.
There are League games,FA Cup matches,Europa & Champions League games that should be finshed off at a leisurely pace so do this up until Xmas.Give everyone Xmas off and have European countries prepare for the European Championship and let that also slowly play out.
Once that’s finished let clubs organise small tournaments amongst them selves give them summer off.
And get them ready for 21/22 season.
Only fools rush in for fans and players alike it makes sense to take it week by week month by month until this virus IS UNDER CONTROL !!!
