Saturday night saw the official announcement of Sheffield United’s player of the year award.

The trophy went to midfielder-come-defender Phil Jagielka, who has now won the accolade an impressive three times on the trot.

After scoring in the 3-0 win over West Ham earlier in the day, Jagielka then got the added bonus of being announced the winner of the award by the official supporter’s club.

Chris Morgan and Rob Hulse had to settle for joint second place behind Jagielka.

The young player of the year award went to Stephen Quinn, after he managed a number of impressive performances in his first season in the first team.
