Play-off Hopes

I haven`t had much time to write an article recently, as I`m still away at sea and finding it difficult to find a few minutes to myself.

I`ve been following the scores from where I am, and seen we seem to have hit a bit of a stumbling block recently. I read about CW giving the team a roasting after the Hull game and to be honest we haven`t done too bad since then up until Wolves.

I know Wolves seem to be running clear in our previous top spot at the moment, and I, like many other dedicated Blades fans are over the moon with our League standing this season, having just been promoted back to the 2nd Tier of English Football. Expectations and belief in our manager have been at a peak this season, and I think many people may be expecting a return to the top flight in our first attempt. It would be fantastic to see us get back to the Premiership, but if we don`t then we have to take solace in the fact that we`ve put a fantastic effort into trying this year.

Looking at our March fixtures I reckon we can get back on a push for the play-offs though. Ipswich away tomorrow, followed by two home games at BDTBL against Burton and then Forest, and then another away match at Brentford, these should produce us with some points to help us in that push.

I`m a bit more at ease as well having seen Brooks get some game time. I was a bit worried with all the hype from Sky Sports and BBC gossip with regards to Liverpool and Spurs showing an interest in him. I`m hoping we can keep him and develop him to become a decent long-term player for us and not cash in on his talent like we have with so many other players in the past.

Anyway, I`ll be glued to Sky Sports News on our British Forces TV tomorrow to watch the Vidiprinter, and hoping for a win away from home. My lad`s team, Chesterfield Junior Blues U16s are doing pretty well this season in their first season since being promoted to their Division 1. He`s third in their table and I`ll be hoping for a win for his team tomorrow at home against Shirebrook Rangers. Hope he grabs another goal, he`s getting a few in the onion bag this season, not bad for a centre half!

Anyway, I hope everyone who`s going to Ipswich tomorrow has a safe journey and puts their full voice behind the team, being the twelfth man that has backed the team so well this season.

UTB!!
