Sheffield United saw their slim play-off hopes ended with a 0-0 draw at Tranmere Rovers on Easter Monday.

Ryan Lowe went closest to scoring for the home side as his shot came back off a post and the striker again went close in the first half when his long-range shot went just wide.

Chris Porter missed a great chance in the first half for the blades but he headed over the bar.

United rarely threatened and Jose Baxter went closest when his shot went just wide whilst penalty appeals were waved away.

Jake Cassidy almost won the game late on for Tranmere but he somehow headed wide from close range.
