Sheffield United made it ten wins in a row in all competitions with a narrow 1-0 home win over Carlisle United.

Jose Baxter scored the only goal of the game for the blades as they stretchered their run of clean sheets to seven games.

The blades controlled the first half with Jamie Murphy forcing the Carlisle goalkeeper into a save within 30-seconds of the game starting.

Stefan Scougall twice went close, missing a great chance on one occasion when he found himself one-on-one with the Carlisle goalkeeper.

Baxter opened the scoring just before the half hour when he fired home from inside the area, his seventh goal of the season.

Murphy again went close in the early stages of the second half but as they FA Cup success at the weekend starting to catch up with them, Carlisle threatened an equaliser.

David Symington and David Amoo went closest for the visitors but the blades held on to keep up their magnificent run since early February.

The win sees the blades move back to within eight points of a play-off place with a game in hand on sixth placed Peterborough United.
