Vital Sheffield United fans have been voting as to whether Claude Davis should make his debut against Blackburn.

Despite being sidelined with a knee injury following the pre-season friendly against Notts County on August 1, 52% of you feel Neil Warnock should gamble on the giant Jamaican’s fitness for tomorrow’s crucial home fixture. A more cautious 38% feel that Davis isn’t quite ready to make his United debut.

Former Blackburn player Craig Short is also back from injury and would love to play against his former club, while Leigh Bromby is facing a late fitness test.

‘Craig, Claude and Leigh have all done a week’s training and I probably could force one of them to play, but it’s not worth it, even though it’s tempting,’ Warnock told the Official Site, but could the manager have a change of heart?

‘Short desperately wants to play. They’ve had no knock backs as yet – touch wood – and they are all improving every day.

‘I have to decide whether to risk one of them, but if they play and make themselves look foolish then it won’t benefit anybody. It’s frustrating, I’ve got be patient and get on with it,’ he added.

Chris Morgan and Phil Jagielka, who formed a central defensive partnership at Fulham, are therefore expected to get the nod at the back for Blackburn. However, only 5% of you want Warnock to stick with this pairing.
