At least we’re putting some backup plans in place.

Doesn’t hurt to have a fall back plan if our main target doesn’t work out. According to a report from Alan Nixon at The Sun, the Blades have their eyes set on a couple of names when it comes to our right-back position, with Swansea City’s Connor Roberts now in the mix in addition to our pursuit of Matty Cash at Nottingham Forest.

Whilst predominantly a right-back, he has also filled in as a right-winger on occasion, meaning he’d slot in incredibly well as a right wing-back in Wilder’s 3-5-2 formation, and has even dabbled at left-back on occasion as well, so there’s that added flexibility too.

Having established himself as the first-choice right-back for Wales as well, I think a move to the Premier League would be an excellent step-up in his career, and would provide an excellent option to help supplement our regular right wing-back in George Baldock.

And that is really what the whole argument comes down to, is that if he would supplement him or ‘provide competition’, how much would it be worth for us to bring in someone like that to be a backup for us?

How much will Sheffield United spend this summer in total?

£50m or more

£50m or more

Less than £50m

Less than £50m

Last summer he was linked with a £10m move to AFC Bournemouth, but something tells me after a successful campaign with the Swans this season that the fee is going to be an awful lot higher if we are to bring him on board.

Is £15m your maximum to bring someone in who might not be starting every game? Would you be willing to go as high as £20m? Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have him on board, but for the right price.

What about you? What do you make of these links to Roberts?
