Sheffield United suffered a small hiccup in Saturday evening’s late kickoff against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
A solitary second half strike from Oli McBurnie was enough to separate the sides on the day and the hosts took a 1-0 win to end our hopes of taking second spot back and closing that gap to Leeds United.
It was the proverbial game of two halves as we could’ve been out of sight in the opening 45 minutes, yet second half the margin of defeat could’ve been greater and that was reflected in statistics website Whoscored’s player ratings as Swansea scored better with a stronger finish.
With a score of 7.18 they gave centre-half John Egan our Man of the Match from the tie, and he was closely followed by defensive colleague Jack O’Connell (7.01). Completing the top five best performers according to them were Oliver Norwood (6.85), John Fleck (6.65) and George Baldock (6.43).
Onto the next one and hopefully a quick return to winning ways.
