Olympiacos have put in a bid for left-wingback Max Lowe, according to Pete O’Rourke on Twitter.

Max Lowe spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, unfortunately he suffered an injury in the second half of the campaign, he managed to come back for Forest’s trip to Wembley for the play-off final.

Forest earlier this summer were keen on bringing in Lowe on a permanent basis, having bid £2M for the left-wingback. [The Star]

United rejected the Forest bid as they value him at much more than £2M. The 25 year-old was said to have joined United in a £15M package deal [SkySports] in 2020, which included Jayden Bogle. The latter, Bogle, being the more expensive player in the deal.

According to The Star, Lowe would be demanding an improved contract [The Star] this summer if the Nottingham Forest bid was rejected.

Right now the transfer bid amount from Olympiacos is unknown, though as per earlier reports from The Star, United could be looking for £5M if clubs want to acquire his services.

Since his move to the Lane, Lowe hasn’t really got his Sheffield United career going. At his previous club Derby County, he more than demonstrated his ability at Championship level. His loan spell at Nottingham Forest last season was of the same story.

The Blades currently have three left-wingbacks in the squad, who are all going to be fighting this pre-season to get that starting spot.

Will Lowe be here over the course of the summer to contest that spot, or is Olympiacos’ offer too good to turn down?
