Sheffield United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Jack O’Connell in the one nil victory over Brentford at the weekend at Bramall Lane was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

Explaining the choice – the EFL blurb read.

‘Sheffield United romped to the Sky Bet League One title last term despite a sluggish start, but they kicked off their Sky Bet Championship campaign with three points at home to Brentford on Matchday 1. While Billy Sharp scored at one end, the Blades` defence held firm at the other ? and O`Connell made a key block to deny his former club an equaliser at Bramall Lane.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to O’Connell for his recognition.

Full Team:

Mark Gillespie (Walsall), Willy Boly (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Jack O’Connell (Sheffield United), Patrick Bauer (Charlton Athletic), Jodi Jones (Coventry City), Kalvin Phillips (Leeds United), Andrew Shinnie (Luton Town), Garry Thompson (Morecambe), Bobby Reid (Bristol City), James Collins (Luton Town), Conor McAleny (Fleetwood Town).
