Moving on up like the Jefferson’s?
That would certainly be what one young man would be doing if Sheffield United were to make a move for him this summer.
According to reports over the weekend from The Telegraph, the Blades are interested in bringing in Nottingham Forest’s winger turned right-back Matty Cash, offering £10m for the 22-year-old and even prepared to go higher if the need arises after the initial bid was rejected.
A cross between a winger and a defender, he’d fit perfectly into Chris Wilder’s 3-5-2 formation, and having accumulated a WhoScored.com rating of 7.20 over the season, he certainly seems to have outgrown the division and appears ready to make the jump up.
And it would seem as if Sheffield United fans are rather hopeful that the deal goes through, with plenty of fans excited at the prospect of bringing him on board.
