Two draws and a defeat for United’s partners around the globe…

None of Sheffield United’s sister clubs scored a goal over the weekend, with draws for two teams, and defeat for the other.

Chengdu Blades:

The Blades were held 0-0 by Qingdao Zhongneng despite having the upper hand in the game. Wang Song went close early on, but Rodrigues was closest, as the Brazilian headed against the bar.

Ferencvaros:

Fradi are now three games without a win after drawing 0-0 at Kaposvar. Bobby Davison admitted his side lacked fitness in the second half, which could explain the pressure they were under. Blades Watch: Sam Wedgbury played the entire game in midfield, partnering ex United midfielder James Ashmore.

Central Coast Marriners:

Nicky Travis made his second appearance for the Marriners from the bench, but was unable to prevent them slipping to a 1-0 defeat at Brisbane, following a goal from Craig Moore, the defender who many will remember from his time at Newcastle (and when he should have been sent off against the Blades).
