Sheffield United captain Chris Morgan remains upbeat despite seeing his side dumped out of the FA Cup by Burnley on Saturday.

The Blades skipper, who was partnered in defence by Jonathan Fortune for the first time, believes the Blades matched their Premier League opposition for much of the game, but Steinsson’s early goal in the second-half gave the side an uphill struggle.

‘There wasn’t much in it in the first half but at the start of the second we shot ourselves in the foot, then it was always going to be an uphill battle.

‘There was not much between the teams apart from the fact that we gave two soft goals away. I thought 2-0 flattered them and they will probably agree.’

‘We are out of the cup now and have to fully concentrate on a busy few weeks in the league, starting with Reading on Tuesday.’

Morgan made his 250th appearance for United at the weekend, and will be looking to build on that after signing a contract extension on Thursday along with midfielder Stephen Quinn.
