Gary Speed is expected to be named Sheffield United manager in a press conference at Bramall Lane tomorrow afternoon.
Speed, currently the first-team coach at Bramall Lane, was refused permission to speak to Swansea City in the Summer, and when Kevin Blackwell was dismissed just two games into the new season, became the instant choice to take hold of the reigns.
In a statement from the club this afternoon, it was announced that a new man will be named, but BBC Radio Sheffield announced that Speed was that man.
It will be Speed’s first managerial position, and his first duty will be to appoint a number two, with the news that Sam Elis joined Blackwell on his way to the exit door.
